Madison
Madison, dressed in her white tennis dress and visor, was in attendance at the USTA youth tennis camp held during the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifier in Delray Beach, Florida over the weekend.
I am a big fan of tennis and I love seeing young girls in the sport. Madison caught my eye, with her bright eyes and big smile. Madison is a sophomore in high school. This was her first time at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. Madison has plans to attend University of Florida to play tennis and major in the medical sciences (pediatrician) and of course play tennis professionally.
I asked Madison about Serena's retirement from the sport, she responded: "I believe the world of tennis is going to miss her a lot because she has done so much for the sport". When asked how long she planned on playing tennis, she said "Forever, I hope." 😍 She thanked her Aunt Okema and her family for all they have done to support her.
It was definitely my absolute pleasure to meet with this amazing young lady. It will be my goal to make it to her first college tennis match at the University of Florida. (USTA) United States Tennis Association keep your eye on Madison and continue to support girls' entry into tennis, especially where a financial or other barrier prevents it or just makes it really difficult.
